First I should start with the important stuff, the background and introduction to the story.

(DISCLAIMER: all names and locations are entirely fictional. Any resemblance to people or places, real or from other fiction, is entirely coincidence.)

Gulls of Visgard is planned to be a trilogy telling the story of Visgard and its struggle for freedom against the oppressive Lutskenburg Empire.

The first book, The Runners, follows the start of revolution in captive Visgard, as various resistance groups strive for freedom. Told through the eyes of “Runner”  Felix W. Roland, a former accountant driven to the life of a Runner after being in the “wrong place at the wrong time.” Felix does his best to survive when he finds himself drawn into the fight after a run in with the mysterious “Free Gulls” resistance group.

The second book will deal with matters currently not stated to avoid spoilers.

The third book’s plot is currently development.

 

Now the less important part- me.

My name is Chris King. Though I am pursuing other careers currently, my passion lies in writing and I hope to always be able to write on the side. It is my dream to hopefully one day be able to succeed enough in writing to make it my primary focus.

This is my first large scale project. Up until now my writing endeavors have been relatively minor. I’ve participated in many jointly written stories, written RPs. I also enjoy art, especially drawing firearms, and have grown a habit of writing backstories for the weapons I draw.

After much encouragement from other writers and friends, I have decided to finally embark on my first serious attempt at writing a book. (or “web book” as I think I will call it, thanks to my friend Robbe)

I plan to write it in segments, publishing a chapter at a time (perhaps more or less sometimes, we’ll see) as I write them. Most of my writing experience has been along these lines, and I plan for this first project to continue in similar fashion.

I am still deciding what course of action I will take once I finish my first “book” of the trilogy. If I can find publishing in paper, I may seek that option.

 

My chief dream is to be a good storyteller.

 

Special shout outs to Isaac and Caitlyn, who’ve been great friends and first introduced me into writing and giving me excellent critique on my characters. To my good fellow “Walkableink” who has been writing with me for almost a year now, and our joint story has been well received enough to inspire me to try writing this trilogy.

And to all who read what I write, I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to read the work of a young writer.
